My name is Abdul Basir, I’m thirty years old and from Kabul, Afghanistan.
My parents and siblings are still in Afghanistan. I used to be a pharmacist until the Taliban regime came. Then the economy started to die slowly, and because I lost my job, I had to leave in February 2023.
I got here in Bosnia travelling from Afghanistan to Iran, from Iran to Turkey, from Turkey to Bulgaria, and then Serbia. Now I have been here in Bosnia for one month. I would like to go to Germany with my friends because Germany has great possibilities for me.
When I get there, I’ll try and learn the language so I can join Pharmacist School and do my job. Of course, I miss my family and friends back home.
I am here for a short time, and I’m leaving soon, but I really like the space and the activities in the Social Café, and the most I like to play Table Tennis. I have no big dreams about my future, I just want to get a better life at my final destination.
