UNCHR – United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
UNHCR, the UN refugee agency, protects people forced to flee their homes and stateless persons, providing life-saving assistance in emergencies, safeguarding basic human rights and helping displaced persons find a safe place to call home.
UNCHR supports millions of people each year who are forced to flee their homes due to conflict and persecution and cannot return without risking their lives, safety or freedom. It helps them at every stage of their journey, whether refugees or displaced persons. In addition, it works to ensure that stateless persons are granted a nationality so that they can access their fundamental rights.
