resources and building partnerships with other RCRC national societies,

of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a well-functioning National Society with modern
and widely recognized and accepted programs that respond to the needs of
vulnerable people, which will ensure a leading role in the field of
humanitarian action.
What we do:
Activities of the
Route-Based Migration Program (Migration Case for Support) in Bosnia and
Herzegovina and Services for Migrants in Transit in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Since the beginning of
the migrant crisis, the Red Cross Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina (DCKBH) has
been involved in migration response activities, in coordination with state
authorities and other stakeholders, in all locations where migrants are on the
move or are housed in transit camps. DCKBH leads mobile teams to support
migrants on the move, with a special emphasis on cantons that are burdened by a
high influx of migrants.
Through this program,
DCKBiH builds and develops its capacities and resources at all levels of its
organization, in order to respond as adequately and timely as possible to
natural and man-made disasters. The Society carries out its activities through
a network of volunteers, who are trained and partially equipped, and organized
into 40 multipurpose field teams in Bosnia and Herzegovina. With its specially
trained teams (Regional Disaster Response Team), DCKBH is part of the
international forces within the IFRC for emergency response in cases of
regional and international disasters, where it contributes every year.
Local organizations in
the structure work in close cooperation with local authorities to identify the
most vulnerable persons. Basic necessities (food and hygiene packages), cash
vouchers and all other available forms of assistance are continuously
distributed to displaced persons, vulnerable elderly persons, families of the
missing, the disabled, victims of natural disasters.
This is a three-year
initiative in the Western Balkans region, coordinated by the Serbian Red Cross,
and supported by the European Union, the Austrian Development Agency and the
Austrian Red Cross. Its specific goal is to empower the elderly and people with
disabilities, civil society organizations and local organizations to better
face the Covid-19 situation and other potential disasters in Albania, Bosnia
and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Kosovo. The initiative
focuses specifically on four thematic areas, namely mental health, cash/voucher
assistance, strengthening local communities and research/public policy.
